Ozil was not included in the 25-man list submitted by the Gunners on Tuesday meaning he cannot feature in any league games until at least January.
This follows Mikel Arteta’s decision to also leave him out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad.
The playmaker has not featured for Arteta’s side since March, despite being the club’s highest earner on £350,000-a-week.
Ozil released a statement on social media on Wednesday expressing his views on the decision.
“This is a difficult message to write to the Arsenal fans that I’ve played for over the past few years. I’m really deeply disappointed by the fact that I have not been registered for the Premier League season for the time being.
“Upon signing my new contract in 2018, I pledged my loyalty and allegiance to the club I love, Arsenal, and it saddens me that this has not been reciprocated.
