Manchester United reportedly want to have Jadon Sancho signed by the time they get their Premier League campaign underway.
The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the 20-year-old and are hoping to finally Sancho, who used to play for Manchester City.
The deal had been thrown into doubt after Dortmund officials stated that Sancho would be staying for at least another year and that his contract had been extended until 2023.
However, United haven’t given up hope on doing a deal and some progress was finally made this week in talks with Sancho’s representatives over personal terms and agent costs, however, a deal is yet to be struck with Dortmund.
Norwegian publication Dagbladet says United are now confident that the transfer will go through and they hope to have the England international in their squad when they kick off their league campaign against Crystal Palace next Saturday.
The report adds that Solskjaer has had several conversations with Sancho, in which he expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford.
