Conor McGregor has called out WWE CEO Vince McMahon on Instagram as he teased a potential cross over into professional wrestling.
The former two-weight UFC world champion announced his retirement last month after failing to secure what he felt were ‘exciting’ fights against contenders in either the lightweight or welterweight divisions.
Although former head coach John Kavanagh has suggested the Irishman may not be done completely, it seems as though McGregor has far bigger fish to fry.

After his personal company The MacLife posted an edited picture of ‘The Notorious’ holding the WWE Universal Championship belt alongside his UFC title, McGregor shared the picture on his Instagram story.
He accompanied the post with the caption: “McGregor vs McMahon CEO Flashmatch.”
The 32-year-old also tagged McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie, in the post so as to definitely guarantee her attention at least.
It is unlikely McGregor will have many friends in the WWE dressing room should he decide to make the cross-over now his MMA career is finished.
In 2016, he called WWE superstars ‘dweebs’ and suggested future Hall of Fame legend John Cena was ‘a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherf*****’.
However, in an interview with the Daily Express prior to UFC 249, Chuck Lidell insisted McGregor has all the physical and personal attributes to be a ‘top candidate’ to cross over.
He said: “Going to WWE depends on the person, if they want to do it and if the opportunity is available – whether it makes sense for WWE to bring them over.
“It depends if he wants to do it, he’s a great trash talker and if he wants to do it then I am sure he’d be worth it to them. He’ll come across when he feels like going there if he feels like doing it.”
